Borland Pascal and Turbo Pascal define the symbol MSDOS, which indicates that the operating environment is real-mode MS-DOS or PC-DOS when Compiler|Target|Platform is set to Protected Mode application.

Versions of Turbo Pascal for other operating environments (CPM, etc.) define a symbolic name for that particular operating system, instead.
